Allure of the Night Winds

The night winds blow their song through the tall pines
colored lights glow through the planks in the fence
in the center of night’s circumference
few stars like phosphorous on fishing lines
the waves roll in on arabesque designs
forged by superior experience
a metronome of ampler time and sense
than the clocks such majesty undermines

And yes, my love, we should be far away
from here where this is only “taking five”
you’re right—we don’t deserve this entropy
we need to dance in space, naked and free
jettisoning these freaks who try to weigh
us down and lessen our being alive
