Stench of Death
War ravaged people trying to escape the stench of death.
Hoping for a better life once they've reached the other side.
Their trip is wrought with peril, some are lost along the way.
The crying and the weeping could be heard far and wide.
They reach a place across the sea where they thought they could go on.
But instead they find barbed wire and soldiers with guns.
They were told they could not cross here and really should go back.
But there's nothing to go back to as everything has been destroyed.
So they find themselves in this place with thousands more just like them.
They live in a tent in the middle of a camp with tents as far as the eye can see.
They receive not quite enough to survive so many die of disease or starve to death.
And once again they find themselves mired in the stench of death.
