Remember You

Each day begins just like the last.
Wake up, get up, and get prepared.
From your first day of school till you're retired at last.
Wake up, get up, and get prepared.

We keep moving along at our own steady pace.
Doing what's expected of us each day after day.
The years seem to pass like they are in a race.
And all that we gain is the ability to pay.

Setbacks come along to make us struggle and fall.
Get back on your feet again and again.
Trial and error leads to fall after fall.
Get back on your feet again and again.

Walking many paths till you find the right one.
Open many doors just to see what is inside.
Looking everywhere for that place in the sun.
Working very hard for the good things in life.

If you see that you've gained than you've walked the right path.
Success comes for some but it doesn't come for all.
Many never learn from the mistakes of the past.
Success comes for some but it doesn't come for all.

You've reached that time in life when your future is past.
You have more years behind you than what lies ahead.
At this point you're hoping you'll be able to last.
Still working day after day to stay out of the red.

When retirement arrives some will stop working while others must go on.
Win or lose, success or failure, your final reward will be the grave.
Some will be happy, and some will be sad when they finally find that there work is done.
Win or lose, success or failure, your final reward will be the grave.

Wake up every day because you've lived through the night.
Now you spend your time finding things to do.
Most of your old friends have passed almost seemingly overnight.
Most of all you hope that when you're gone they will remember you.
